Diversity, concealed carry permits, and de-escalation......
As our county becomes more ethnically diverse, how do you see training your deputies to deal with citizens on a level playing field of courtesy?I understand with 100 million more guns sold in the last decade and concealed carry becoming a norm in Saunders County. I understand basic interaction with folks who are pulled over has a heightened risk for law enforcement as well.
Basically, I have two nephews who live out of state. One is white and the other mixed race. Would they be treated differently by deputies if pulled over for a traffic ticket while visiting me? Do I need to tell one he has to act any differently than the other?
How will you work with your staff regarding de escalating those situations.
